ILOILO CITY, Jan 21 — The National Youth Commission will hold its first consultative meeting for the drafting of the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 10742, or the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 in this city on Jan. 30, 2016.
Rey Jason Gregorio, executive director of the Iloilo City Youth Development Office, said that the consultation was necessary for the commission to know the pulse of the concerned sector in coming up with the guidelines on how the new law would be implemented.
Republic Act 10742 that was signed into law by President Benigno S. Aquino III on Jan. 15 this year tasked the NYC to lead in the crafting of the IRR, Gregorio said.
Expected to attend the whole day consultation are 15 representatives each from the out-of-school youth, in-school, persons with disability (PWD) and working youth.
Newly appointed executive director and chief operating officer Nielex Tupas will spearhead the consultation.
After Iloilo, the NYC will travel to Mindanao for another consultation meeting. (PNA)
