Cold snap hits south China's Guangxi

NANNING, Jan. 28 — A rare cold snap swept across south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, affecting more than 220,000 people and damaging crops, local government said on Wednesday.

Losses in the agricultural sector due to snow and frost were estimated at 64.3 million yuan (9.8 million U.S. dollars).

The Guangxi weather bureau said another cold snap is expected later this week. (PNA/Xinhua)
