MANILA, Jan. 28 — The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT)-Philippines will organize the 2016 National Leadership Training and Seminar from Feb. 19 to 21 at the Baguio Teachers Camp (BTC) in Baguio City.
The training and seminar aims to help advance the professional growth of the present and future teacher-leaders from different school divisions nationwide.

The seminar will highlight topics such as the Department of Education (DepEd) rules of procedure; teachers’ welfare and economic benefits like ACA/PERA, hazard pay, bonuses, etc.; authorized collection policy; proper management of their federations and faculty clubs; and corporal punishment in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, a bill which provides protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination.
The seminar is open for all rank-and-file teachers. Each schools division is allowed to send six to ten teacher-leaders (combined elementary and secondary).
A registration fee of Php1,500 will be charged to each participant to cover the cost of food and snacks, kits, and other expenses.
