BACOLOD CITY, June 16 — The 3rd Infantry Division Commander’s Cup 2016 Brown Eagle-Negros Island Leg will be held on June 17 to 19 at the 303rd Infantry Brigade Firing Range at Camp Major Nelson Gerona in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The shooting competition, sanctioned by the Philippine Shooters Match Officers Confederation (PSMOC), will be formally opened Saturday by officials led by Brig. Gen. Harold Cabreros, commander of 3rd ID.
It will gather shooting enthusiasts from gun clubs, business community, local government units and national government agencies along with personnel of Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine Coast Guard, and other law enforcement agencies.
AFP reservists and retirees are also expected to participate.
The competition, which aims to hone the shooting skills of soldiers and other law enforcers, has five challenging Courses of Fire (COF) with a minimum ammunition requirement of 134 rounds.
With 76 awards at stake, the competition will have the following categories: Senior (50-59 years old), Super Senior (60 years old and above), Lady, and Lawman.
Special awards will be given for the AFP shooters, including generals, officers, enlisted and reservists/retirees, and government executive officials (Civil Service or Elected) with Salary Grade of 27 and above. (PNA)
